FAQ

When I complete the Awaken Aerial Training, what is the next step?

Once an Awaken aerial trainee has completed the 40 hour course, we welcome you to join our Awaken Aerial apprenticeship program to support you on your teaching journey.  Here you will observe other instructors, gain hands-on experience teaching, and receive valuable feedback from our Awaken Aerial mentors.

Is there an age requirement?
Yes, all program attendees must be 18 years of age.

I haven’t done much aerial, can I still register?
Absolutely!  There is no prerequisite to participate in the Awaken Aerial instructor training program.  It is helpful if you’ve attended aerial hammock classes and are familiar with the aerial hammock; however, we will teach you everything you need to know!

Who should not take the Awaken Aerial Education courses?
If you have vertigo, heart disease, pregnancy, recent surgeries, high or low blood pressure, glaucoma, severe arthritis, artificial hip, cerebral sclerosis, disc herniation, several muscle spasms, carpal tunnel syndrome, radiculitis, sinusitis or tendonitis. Please consult your Doctor before taking any aerial classes or courses if you have any of the mentioned above.

How much is the course?
Our 40 hour course is $997 USD

Awaken Aerial  is not responsible for the cost of flights, meals, or accommodations. Due to COVID-19, we recommend getting travel insurance in case plans change.

Attendees will receive an Awaken Aerial Certified instructors upon completion of their Awaken Aerial Level 1 exam. See  Exam FAQS (link) for more information.

I took a Level One course but with a different aerial instructor training provider. Can I attend part of the Awaken Aerial training and obtain a certification with Awaken Aerial?
Each aerial arts course covers unique skills and curriculum. For this reason, we require all attendees to complete and pass the full 40 hour scope of the Awaken Aerial training to proceed with our apprenticeship program or to become certified with Awaken Aerial.

Does my Awaken Aerial certification expire?
Students who complete the Awaken Aerial certification program are asked to keep their skills fresh by completing 6 Continuing Education Credits per year through Awaken Education. If you choose to not participate in CEU’s, your certificate will expire one year after the completion date of your Awaken Aerial Education program.

Will the course be taught in English?
All course materials are in English.

Is it dangerous?

We are an extremely safe and positive environment. As it is done with proper equipment, training and supervision,  aerial is as safe as any other recreational sport or rigorous physical activity you may engage in. If you have any physical impairments that could impact your own well being, please let us know so that before class.

I’m not an athlete, will I be able to keep up?

Everyone starts somewhere. The most important factor in success is a good attitude and a commitment to your training.
